ORA-06550: line/column PLS-... PL/SQL compilation error

Oracle

What does it mean?

A syntax or semantic error was found while compiling a PL/SQL block, procedure or anonymous block. The code failed at the compilation stage before it could run.

Why does it happen?

Typos, a reference to an undeclared variable or object, a call with the wrong number/type of parameters, a missing semicolon, a call to a nonexistent procedure/package, or a missing privilege.

How to fix it

Go to the line and column number in the error message; read the PLS-XXXX sub-code. To see all compilation errors: SHOW ERRORS; or SELECT * FROM user_errors WHERE name = 'OBJECT_NAME'; Verify object names, parameter signatures and the required GRANTs, then recompile.
