Check table integrity (CHECK TABLE)

CHECK TABLE customer;

What it does

Checks the table and its indexes for corruption and returns a status.

When to use it

On unexpected errors or when corruption is suspected.

Caution

A read lock is taken on the table during the check. If corruption is found, InnoDB is usually repaired via dump/restore; REPAIR TABLE works only for engines such as MyISAM/Archive.
