Set the ASM rebalance POWER

OracleASM

Command

-- Change the power of a running rebalance (1-1024, 0 stops it):
ALTER DISKGROUP DATA REBALANCE POWER 8;

-- Stop the rebalance completely:
ALTER DISKGROUP DATA REBALANCE POWER 0;

What it does

Sets the parallelism/speed of an ongoing rebalance. A higher POWER means faster but more I/O.

When to use it

To speed up a rebalance that is too slow, or to slow down/stop one that is affecting production.

Caution

POWER 0 suspends the rebalance (a disk drop will not complete). A high value affects production I/O.
