ASK: ASK slot ip:port (cluster redirect)
RedisWhat does it mean?
In Redis Cluster, a slot is being migrated to another node, and the requested key may temporarily be on the target node. The server redirects the client to the target node for this request only (temporary redirect).
Why does it happen?
Accessing a key that has already been transferred within a slot being migrated during resharding. Unlike MOVED it is not permanent; it applies only at that moment.
How to fix it
Cluster-aware clients handle ASK redirects automatically: they send the ASKING command to the target node and retry the request, but do not update the slot map permanently. Use a suitable client library, and the -c flag for redis-cli. When resharding completes, redirects become MOVED and permanent.
