Check OCR integrity and take an OCR backup (ocrcheck / ocrconfig)
OracleRAC & GridCommand
# OCR integrity and capacity check (run as root for the logical check):
ocrcheck
ocrcheck -config
# Automatic backups (every 4 hours, daily, weekly):
ocrconfig -showbackup
# Manual backup before a risky change (root):
ocrconfig -manualbackup
ocrconfig -showbackup manual
# Move the backup location to a disk group (root):
ocrconfig -backuploc +<diskgroup>What it does
Shows the integrity, locations and backups of the Oracle Cluster Registry (the cluster configuration repository); -manualbackup takes an immediate physical OCR backup.
When to use it
Right before cluster configuration changes such as adding/removing nodes, Grid patching/upgrade, voting disk or network (oifcfg) changes.
Caution
ocrconfig -restore must run with CRS stopped on all nodes and in exclusive mode; restoring the wrong backup can leave the cluster unable to start, so do it with Oracle Support. Automatic backups may stay on the local disk of a single node by default; move the location to a shared disk group.
