aliases_not_found_exception: Aliases missing
ElasticsearchWhat does it mean?
The alias you are trying to operate on does not exist. It is usually returned when removing, or acting on, an alias that does not exist.
Why does it happen?
The alias name is misspelled; the alias was deleted earlier; or a remove action in the _aliases API names an alias that was never attached. It also appears when no alias matches a wildcard pattern.
How to fix it
List existing aliases: GET _alias, or for a specific index GET my-index/_alias. Retry the operation with the correct name. Write deletion scripts so they do not fail when the alias is absent; handle actions conditionally in _aliases bulk operations. To repoint aliases atomically, use add and remove in a single _aliases request.
