process_cluster_event_timeout_exception: process_cluster_event_timeout_exception
ElasticsearchWhat does it mean?
A cluster state update (e.g. index creation, mapping change) did not complete within the allotted time and timed out. The master node could not process the update in time.
Why does it happen?
Master node under heavy load, a very large/complex cluster state, frequent and intensive mapping/template changes, a slow master, or master election problems.
How to fix it
Check master node load and health: GET _cluster/health, GET _cat/master, and GET _cluster/pending_tasks for pending tasks. Shrink the cluster state (reduce unnecessary indices/mappings/templates, prevent dynamic mapping explosion). Run heavy DDL-like operations in batches during low-traffic periods. Increase master resources if needed.
