15151: Cannot find the object/principal because it does not exist or you do not have permission
SQL ServerWhat does it mean?
The object or security principal (user, role, login) you referenced either does not exist or you lack the permission to access/act on it. For security reasons SQL Server combines both cases into one message.
Why does it happen?
Using a nonexistent user, role, schema or object name in a command such as GRANT/ALTER/DROP; running in the wrong database context (the object is in another DB); or lacking the privilege for the operation. Typos, case and schema prefixes are frequent causes.
How to fix it
Verify that the object/principal name is spelled correctly and that you are in the right database. For users: SELECT name, type_desc FROM sys.database_principals; for objects, query sys.objects. Make sure the executing account has the required permissions (e.g. ALTER ANY USER, CONTROL). Use the correct schema prefix (such as dbo.object).
