3D000: invalid_catalog_name

PostgreSQL

What does it mean?

The database you are trying to connect to or access does not exist. No database with the given name was found.

Why does it happen?

A misspelled database name in the connection string; the database not yet created or dropped; case sensitivity; connecting to the wrong server; a wrong name in the environment (env) configuration.

How to fix it

List existing databases: psql -l or SELECT datname FROM pg_database. Correct the database name in the connection string. Create it if needed: CREATE DATABASE database_name; Verify that you are connecting to the correct server/port. Check the DB name in the application configuration.
