3F000: invalid_schema_name

PostgreSQL

What does it mean?

The referenced schema does not exist or cannot be found in search_path. There is no schema with the given name.

Why does it happen?

A misspelled schema name; the schema never created; search_path not including the schema; a case difference; a wrong prefix when accessing an object with a schema prefix.

How to fix it

List existing schemas: \dn or SELECT schema_name FROM information_schema.schemata. Correct the schema name. Create it if needed: CREATE SCHEMA schema_name; Set search_path: SET search_path TO schema_name, public; Access objects with the correct schema prefix.
