ERR increment or decrement would overflow: ERR increment or decrement would overflow
RedisWhat does it mean?
An INCR/DECR (or INCRBY/DECRBY) was rejected because the result would overflow the 64-bit signed integer range. The value would exceed the upper or lower bound.
Why does it happen?
The key's value being very close to the int64 limit (about 9.2 quintillion) so that the increment/decrement overflows, a very large INCRBY argument, or a counter growing uncontrolled.
How to fix it
Design counter values to stay within int64 bounds. For large counts, apply scaling or periodic resets. Keep the increment (the INCRBY argument) within a reasonable range. If very large values are required, use a different counting strategy in the application layer.
